Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

1. What services does NEXA Pharm provide?

NEXA Pharm supports pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies in entering and expanding within the Azerbaijani market. Our services include regulatory strategy and submissions, pricing and reference pricing analysis, market access planning, tender and hospital channel support, compliance consulting, pre-launch strategic evaluation, commercialization support, and collaboration with qualified local national distributors.

2. Which types of products does NEXA Pharm work with?

We work with a broad range of product categories, including small molecules, biologics, biosimilars, orphan and rare disease medicines, advanced therapies (gene and cell therapies), vaccines, plasma-derived products, radiopharmaceuticals, and combination products.
Our primary interest is in innovative originator brands and innovative generics.

3. Do you work only with registered products or also with pre-launch assets?

We support both pre-launch and already registered products. Our team provides early regulatory and market access assessments to help companies optimize their strategy well in advance of submission, as well as lifecycle management support after approval.

4. How long does the registration process take in Azerbaijan?

Registration timelines depend on the regulatory pathway, dossier completeness, and product category. In general, timelines may range from several months to over one year.
Registration via the recognition pathway and
orphan product listing typically takes approximately two months, assuming full documentation is available. Timeline assessments are provided as part of our initial regulatory evaluation.

5. What is reference pricing and how can NEXA Pharm help?

Azerbaijan applies a regulated reference pricing system for medicines. NEXA Pharm conducts reference-country price analysis, prepares pricing submission dossiers, and supports interactions with the Tariff Council to ensure compliant, transparent, and sustainable pricing outcomes.

6. Do you support tender and hospital market access?

Yes. We support tender readiness and hospital market access strategies, including engagement with key opinion leaders (KOLs), alignment with healthcare authorities, and coordination with national procurement frameworks and local distributors.

7. Does NEXA Pharm act as a distributor?

NEXA Pharm does not operate as a distributor. As an independent strategic partner, we support full national coverage through collaboration with reliable local distributors when required. This approach ensures objective advice, avoids conflicts of interest, and allows manufacturers to select the most appropriate commercialization or distribution model.

8. How do you ensure compliance and confidentiality?

With more than 20 years of experience in leading multinational pharmaceutical companies, our team ensures ethical and fully compliant business practices in line with global standards. Compliance and confidentiality are core principles of our work. All activities adhere to local and international regulations, ethical guidelines, and data protection requirements. Any information shared with us is treated as strictly confidential.

9. How can we start working with NEXA Pharm?

You can initiate cooperation by submitting a request through our Contact form. Our team will review your enquiry and contact you to discuss your product, objectives, and the most appropriate next steps.

10. Can NEXA Pharm support companies without an existing local presence in Azerbaijan?

Yes. NEXA Pharm regularly supports pharmaceutical and biotech companies that do not have a legal entity or operational presence in Azerbaijan. We act as a strategic local partner, guiding manufacturers through regulatory, pricing, market access, and commercialization processes, and coordinating with qualified local distributors and stakeholders where required.

11. What models of collaboration does NEXA Pharm offer?

NEXA Pharm offers flexible collaboration models tailored to the strategic needs of each partner. Depending on the product, development stage, and commercial objectives, cooperation may range from regulatory and market access consultancy, to project-based support, long-term strategic partnerships, or local commercial coordination through selected national distributors. Our models are designed to remain transparent, compliant, and adaptable as products progress through their lifecycle.

12. Do you work only in Azerbaijan?

While our primary focus is on Azerbaijan, NEXA Pharm can support regional expansion into neighboring CIS markets, including Georgia, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan, depending on project scope and strategic objectives.
